Is Discipline the Key to Achieving Your Fitness Goals?

Discipline is an important character trait which goal-oriented individuals must possess. It is impossible to achieve anything in life without discipline, it is the driving force to take action. Many people associate discipline with fitness. They are correct in making this association. However, discipline is essential in any walk of life. Let’s say you have started a university course. When exam season rolls around, a disciplined student will find it easier to maintain an adequate study schedule than a person who is unable to discipline himself. The same applies to starting a business. You may not feel like working on your business today. Being disciplined highlights one’s ability to overcome negative temptations, such as procrastination, comfort, and instant gratification. Whether we are willing to admit this or not, we are all guilty of lacking discipline in certain situations. For instance, there have been rare occasions where I have eaten an extra cheat meal when pressured by friends or family. The key is to limit these occurrences as much as possible.
