Is Training to Failure Worth It? Exploring the Pros and Cons

Let’s start with exposing a myth; you are not required to train to failure each time you workout. Beginners tend to adopt the belief that in order to be truly masculine and experience significant muscle growth, you must be the person who trains to failure consistently, slams the dumbbells to the ground after each set and groan aggressively when experiencing the slightest discomfort during an exercise. This is definitely an incorrect perception of what is required to achieve muscle growth and to look strong and confident in the gym. I have experienced this myself on numerous occasions throughout the last few years. For the first twenty years of my life, I was a shy, reserved person who barely made eye contact when interacting with another person. This extended to my workouts. I would feel uncomfortable training around other men who were at an advanced stage of their fitness journey and who could lift certain weight with ease. I would feel inferior and stumble over every word if they asked me a question or tried to start a dialogue with me.
