Is Heavy Weight Lifting the Key to Maximized Gym Results?

What is a heavy weight? Can it even be defined let alone quantified? There is no measure to determine whether the weight you are lifting can be considered heavy weight. In reality, this is dependent on the physical capabilities possessed by an individual which tend to improve with experience. When I had just commenced my fitness journey, I struggled to complete a bench press unless the weight was low. The same could be said for other exercises such as squats, leg presses, shoulder presses and back pulldowns. These are all relatively basic exercises which one could master over time. The key is to start low. If you are unsure about the required technique to perform an exercise or your form, ask a fitness instructor at your gym to guide you through it. You will inevitably get better one repetition at a time, and this would be where you would afford to add more weight to increase the difficulty of the exercise.
